01 Sep Daniel Rowland commissioned the composition for violin and piano by Isidora Žebeljan
At the end of August, Daniel Rowland, the first violinist of the world-famous Brodsky Quartet from London, organized the tenth Stift-festival, an international chamber music festival, a musical event which he founded and of which he is the Artistic Director. The festival was held in the church Stift built in the 14th century, near the small town of Oldenzaal in the Netherlands. To celebrate the tenth anniversary of his festival, Daniel Rowland commissioned the composition for violin and piano by Isidora Žebeljan, called Hum away, strings, a song and a dance (with a Magic Flute in the background), which he premiered with great success on 30th August 2014 together with the pianist Natasha Kudritskaya.
