08 Nov Chamber music by Isidora Žebeljan
During the period from August to November, the Žebeljan Ensemble held four concerts of chamber music by Isidora Žebeljan in Serbia: at the Festival of Spiritual Celebrations in Raška and at the KOZART International Festival of Classical Music in Aleksandrovac, as well as at concerts in Kragujevac and Belgrade. The Žebeljan Ensemble – consisting of Isidora Žebeljan, piano; Aneta Ilić and Katarina Jovanović, sopranos; Julija Hartig, violin; Borislav Čičovački, oboe and cor anglais; Aleksandar Stefanović, accordion; Nataša Petrović, Đorđe Pintor and Vladimir Popović, violas; Bojana Stanković, piano and Boban Stošić, double bass – performed the following compositions by Isidora Žebeljan: The Miracle in Šargan, Leonce and Lena, Dark Velvet, New Songs of Lada, New Songs of Lada without Words, Umbra, The Mousetrap, Two Songs of the Bride of the Wind and Three Goat’s Ears. As a part of the concerts, the following pieces were premiered: New Songs of Lada without Words, for oboe/cor anglais and accordion (Aleksandrovac), The Mousetrap, a diptych for cor anglais, violin and piano (Raška), Two Songs of the Bride of the Wind, for cor anglais, accordion and double bass (Raška), as well as the new version of the composition New Songs of Lada, for soprano and accordion (Raška).
