As a part of the program of the oldest and biggest festival of contemporary music,
which has been organized by The International Society for Contemporary Music
(ISCM) and which was this year organized in the Polish town of Wrocław, there was a
performance of Isidora Žebeljan’s composition New Songs of Lada, for soprano and
string quartet. The concert was held on the 12th of October in a packed Baroque hall
Oratorium Marianum, and the performing ensemble consisted of some of the foremost
Polish artists – Agata Zubel, soprano and The Lutosławski Quartet. An international
jury selected the composition New Songs of Lada to be a part of the festival’s program,
and Isidora Žebeljan was the only composer from Serbia who presented her music at
this year’s World Music Days.
